Lens Cap for Canon 17-85 IS USM
-
imaginationParticipant
Anyone have a lens cap for a canon 17-85 IS USM for sale?????? I would also be interested in a uv filter for the lens…
If not where is the best place to buy above?
I was on amazon and there seems to be plenty of caps for a 24-85mm lens but this will hardly fit my lens???
Ta… :D
stcstcMemberjust check the size of the lens, it will be marked on the front of it
then go on somewhere like 7 day shop, and just buy a 3rd party one
will save ya a fortune
brendancullenParticipantHi,
Buckets on eBay.
key words search ~ 67mm lens cap canon.
Lots of 67mm UV filters too – just don’t buy a cheap one. A HOYA PRO1 will do the job nicely. A cheap one will be like taking pictures of your garden from inside the kitchen window.
You could get a cheaper HOYA or Kenko version – but stay clear of unbranded ones from china.
Hope this helps.

The best ones though are genuine nikon caps. You never lose them. You can mask or remove nikon logo, but after all your lens won’t care who the manufacturer is :D
About UV filter. Do not buy cheap ones like hoya in green box or king. You dont really need UV filter for digicams. If you need one for protection you need a good multicoated one to avoid flares. It is a real issue with cheap uv filters. Purple hoya is better.
Some tests of the UV filters http://lenstip.com/113.1-article-UV_filters_test.html” onclick=”window.open(this.href);return false;BarkerPhotographicParticipantJust go to your nearest Camera Shop! You will probably pay more on P&P than you could possibly save, and it could cost you a lot more if you scratch the lens before the cap arrives….
imaginationParticipantThanks folks….
Ordered both online…. Don’t have a local camera shop apart from the big superstores who don’t know one end of a camera from the other….
