Howya,
I been messing with photos for more years than I care to remember but only recently got into DSLR. I bought a Canon EOS 1000D kit . I once owned an A1 Canon and think they are an ok brand and found the A1 was great for me.
I live just off the N69 and like taking pics of absolutely anything…..large hard drives were designed for eejits like me that never delete anything (I’ll get round to clearing some files one day) and I love messing with Paint Shop Pro .8. I was given a copy of PSP X2 but buggered up the installation. I think most people use Photoshop and I hope to get some info off here on how to use it properly.
So anyhow, please help me if I post a pic that is a disaster (in your opinion) I am always welcoming criticism and value other peoples experience and opinions, we are ALWAYS learning and can all benefit from our critics.
Here is a pic of an old doorway for someone to evaluate for me, I was looking round a 300 year old derelict house near me and think this is one of the best pics I got that day. The second is my first attempt at long exposure at night. Advice on either please.
As you can tell already ,I tend to ramble on……………….. Faing
shutterbugParticipantHi Faing, and welcome to the site.
The picture of the doorway is promising, there are a lot of nice textures going on,
can you sense a but?……..but I would have liked to see more of the actual door, at
the angle you have taken it, it looks a bit lop-sided, I love pictures of old doors they
can really tell a story and this shot just doesnt tell me enough, worth a re-visit.I am rubbish at night shots so I am full of admiration for anyone that can take a
half decent one :)Keep posting! (probably better to post in the critique sections too…more people will see them)
FaingParticipantthanks for that ,I’ll post me night shot in the crtics section and see if I can get some advice.
