It’s certainly a shot that keeps you looking. I like the noise
and the feeling of darkness. The row of lights on the right
suggests a dressing-room, backstage feel, which sets the
imagination going. The model is very attractive and her angular
jaw lends to the intriguing nature of the shot – she certainly
doesn’t have the appearance of a stripper, more a Shakespearean
actress or a Wagnerian singer. Maybe I’m getting too fanciful?
What’s that horrid rectangle of light in the middle? You’re far too
much of a pro to photograph your own flash unit… aren’t you?
Wow, Pete said it really, not getting too fanciful, I think. But that rectangular is a bit disturbing alright.
Brilliant shot, love it!
Also maybe if you had gone a bit more to the right.would have liked to see more of her right hand in the reflection perhaps..just a thought of a beginner. Still good in my eyes! :)
Si, I think that this will become a PI classic. Great light both in terms of the reflected face and the out of focus arm/face etc…
The reflected arm chair end is a little bit of a distraction, easily dealt with though and doesn’t take away from the overall feel of the photograph.
Thanks folks, The chrome end of the chair seems to be too dominant, I thought it would be balanced by the dots in te top corners. I shall tone it down a bit :)
