Hi,
Was wondering how you guys out there advertise. I am a wedding & portrait photographer relatively new to the business.
I advertise in weddingsonline and weddingsireland and seem to be getting work from them but I would like to generate more direct traffic to my website. How about Google Adwords? Do you use them, How do you find it?Thanks for sharing
:wink:
Ericmiki gParticipantHi Eric.
I don’t advertise as I’m not in the business, but I did notice an interesting reply on one of the threads relating to websites recently, which mentioned ways of optimising your search engine. Unfortunately, I can’t remember the title. Sorry :oops: :oops:ericmolimardParticipantok, well, err…Thanks I suppose :lol: :roll: :shock: Are those my feet? Ted!
miki gParticipantYes Dougal. They are your feet. :lol: :lol:
I just found the thread. Hope you find the info useful.

by munsterimages ยป Wed Apr 07, 2010 9:48 amHi Nula,
The first thing you have to work on on any website is what is called onsite SEO or search engine optimisation.
This is required of you want people to find you or the services you offer in a search on Google or any search engine.
The important things to get right are –Page Title – Currently your home page title is “Home” – Thats not going to get you any search results – try something like Nature photography by Nula or anything that is a short summary of what you do.
You also need to add a description meta tag to help google know what the site is about.
Then its down to the content of your pages. Google only sees text. I have seen many artistic photography sites that contain little or no text. They look nice but rarely rank well in searches.
Google has currently not indexed your site, You can speed this up by getting links to your site on other well ranked sites. Stick with the ones that don’t charge at the start untill you get properly indexed. Then later you can decide if paid advertising is required or worthwhile.It can take several weeks to be indexed by Google add your site to speed it up slightly http://www.google.com/addurl/” onclick=”window.open(this.href);return false;
That should get you started
Do a search for SEO tips on youtube for a lot of handy info.ericmolimardParticipantThanks a lot, it is a helpful start. Glad to see there are still some Father Ted Fans out there :D
