Sunrise, Kinvarra

  I took this last Sunday morning near Kinvarra, Co Galway. Getting up at 5am to make the sunrise was painful, but I think it was worth it for this image. C&C welcome, as always!

  Looks like it was worth it alright Doug…. I might crop a little out of the foreground to have the meandering stream lead more into the shot ..but that is just me

  Well done on getting up at that hour . I know it is never easy but always worth it when you get a shot you are happy with

  I think you might be right about the crop. I played around with several different versions, and I think I stared at it too long to make a decision. I should have waited until the next day to have another look, but I was impatient to get it finished.

  Frankly, I’m surprised this image hasn’t gotten more views or comments. I was pretty happy with it overall. I guess that just goes to show that you never know what’s going to interest people. Maybe photographers are just too jaded when it comes to sunrise/sunset pictures…or maybe it’s not as good as I thought it was.

  I dont know about that lad… I think it is a great shot .. one to be proud of… the sun is strong and the colors rich…. but that is just my humble opinion… and if you are happy with it … then that is the main thing

  Thanks man…I appreciate the encouragement. I’m just having one of those days, and felt like a whinge. I really should work on getting more sleep!

  I’d agree with the crop. for some reason I keep getting drawn to the seaweed at the bottom left of the image.

  Cracking image though, well worth getting up early (and being cranky due to lack of sleep) for.

  Nice shot! I’d agree with the crop idea but over all nice shot.
  don’t think I could ever get bord of sun rise/sets when their well taken

  Thanks everyone for the comments! I’ve played around with the crop and I agree that less foreground works better.
