    Hello all,

1st pic posted on this board for me :) It was taken at the Poolbeg lighthouse on a sunny but still freezing day of March…
Very little post-production here, only levels and dust-spotting on CS3.

    Cheers!

Good first post! I like the crane as a subject here, but the contrast of the scene is a little too high to see the detail in it. It might be that the sun was too harsh…maybe a partly cloudy day or surise/sunset would be better. Also, I think placing the subject somewhere other than right in the center might give the composition more interest.

    Hi Alberto,

As Doug said this is a good first post and well done.

It’s quite a nice effort with a good subject.

Some nice lines and the chimneys in the distance
lets us know where it is.

Placing the subject in the middle can make a picture
a little static but you may have composed it like this
so as to include the chimneys in the distance.

I am probably being a little overcritical but my eye is
constantly drawn to the chimney which I think is
    leaning a little.

All in all a good first post.

    Well done.

    John.

I like the shot overall, and particularly the slightly brooding appearance fo the crane.
I do agree that the crane could be offset from the centre a little.
But, well done, a lovely shot!
