Today has been one of those days, my little girl drop my mobile phone and as a result I’ve lost all my contacts. I won’t go into the long version here but basically all my contacts were on the phone and not on my sim as I thought they were. Now Vodafone are telling me to fix the phone they have to remove all the software and reload it, thus deleting all my contacts. I’m going to visit a Nokia shop tomorrow to see can they help but I’m not too optimistic.

I’m hoping I’m not first person this has happen too and someone knows a way of retrieving the number from the damaged phone, all help is greatly appreciated as I’m up the creek with out a paddle at the moment.

    Dave.

Happened to me a couple of weeks ago Dave and I had no luck getting my contacts back
My mate works with phones and said the moment they have to reinstall anything it
    loses everything on the phone.
You will soon build up your contacts again but it is very annoying
the thing that maddened me most was I had a few great text’s stored on the phone which I lost also

    Hi Dave.
I don’t know if your phone is a Nokia, but if it is you could possibly have a copy of your contacts if using their Lifeblog software. I know it’s a long shot but maybe worth a try.

Yes Miki, my phone is a Nokia, model 5130c. How do I find out about this software.

    Thanks Dave.

It can be downloaded from the Nokia site or perhaps you have it on a disc that came with the phone. If you do have it, just connect your phone to your pc and run Lifeblog, it will synch your messages, photos, contacts etc.

Miki, I tried your suggestion above but my phone won’t connect to my PC :( . I’m not giving up hope yet but I think my last chance will be a Nokia shop.

    Thanks for help.

    Hi Dave,
The only thing I know about phones is how to make calls etc.
However, could you not check your old phone bills, or get a copy?
This would at least give you a list of all the numbers you’ve dialled for, say, the last six months.
You could then, by process of elimination, get a fair amount of your contacts.
It’s not ideal, but if all else fails, it’d be something.
