CS3 ?

GypsyParticipant
Having being made redundant from work recently I went to FAS looking for any courses re: Photography. It’s been a passion of mine for approximately 4 yrs now but just being a hobby – I am now trying to learn more about the technical end which I still have noooo idea of  .
I was offered a course in CS3 which I know is the older version because even though I’m crap at it I have CS4 and also see that CS5 is out now. My question is is there much difference in these and is it worth my while doing CS3 ?
Dermot1Participantfree course in cs3 is better than no course, I did photoshop training as part of my college course work and what i learned has been applicable to each subsequent version plus the new features then don’t seem so scary, take it and a lot of what you’ll learn will be transferable to 4 and 5, you freely admit to being crap with cs4 so you’ll get some benefits you can transfer over, main differences I’ve found between the 3 of them and I only use them for specific things is that each new version makes things easier to do as in the layout and whatnot are improved and you can do more in the programme with each update. that’s my limited knowledge well and truly tapped out, let us know if you decide to do it.
GypsyParticipantI think even on that note alone I will do it for sure Dermot because I need to learn even the basics and like you say, they are all mostly the same except made easier.
Thanks for the advice :-)
MartinOCParticipantI totally agree with Dermot, very few differences just the same things with easier ways of doing them.
If its a decent course it will teach you a lot about a good approach to processing which is mostly version independent. Also the functionality in Photoshop CS is huge, and the key is to figure out what few functions are most useful.
Good luck!
