I’ve had the camera from new, bought originally from Mifsuds in the UK and it’s for sale because I’ve upgraded to the Mark II. As I understand it, there’s no way of telling the number activations short of sending it to Canon; however the continuous numbering system goes to 9,999, then re-starts from 0001. It’s been around the clock three times which make 30,000 and it’s currently at 3,000, which makes a total of 33,000 activations.
Being close to retirement age, I’d probably describe myself as a semi-pro shooting mostly landscape – for fun and stock – and rarely in inclement weather conditions. I use it with just the one lens (not for sale) so the sensor stays fairly clean – it was professionally cleaned in July last year by Image Supplies in Dublin.
I have the original receipt and the camera is available in its original box with strap, Canon software, leads, battery charger and two batteries (not Canon). I live near Dungarvan in Co Waterford, and am more than happy for an interested buyer to inspect it.
