hi, there. can anybody help me, pls. i have photography like a hobby but i would like to go taking pictures of bands, singers, some events where is not allowed to bring the pro camera. does anybody know how can i get a permission to attend this events with my camera? do i need the special permit for each event or can i get a general one from some agency ?
and i would like to know how is working if i wanna sell some pictures to the press agency?
thank you very much for advice.
MichalPhotoSligoMemberHi.
First- try write directly to organizer of events, most situation it helps. Not for U2,Rugby final etc…
Second- there is no agency with golden permint (but if you are CNBC photographer it might be easier:)
Press Agencies- google -email or walk in or some online press agencies (similar to istock)
You need to be more bussinesman than photographer for it (need lot’s of time)

Not really, for example there are photographers who get a photo pass for the entire Formula 1 season so I wouldn´t be surprised if more organizers offered something similar.

It’s more common for sporting organisations to issue “seasonal press accreditation”, but this would not be the case for concerts and such, where you would have to apply event by event.
gazzagParticipantthanks guys for this useful debate and if you dont mind more questions will follow. do the organisers of the events have any special conditions: like a previous experiences, portfolio and so on? or is it general or tender or something different ? i would be happy for some examples, pls. thank you a lot. have a nice day
MMXParticipantTheir only condition is that you must do some advertising for the organizer and you must have enough readers/visitors who will see these adverts. There may be some who will ask you to give them the photos on a DVD but it´s not very common.
