Taken at a session in co cork last feb. A happy-go-lucky accordion player, well ,until i started taking photos, then he nearly burst with glee, the idea that someone would want to take a photo of him !shut his eyes to keep it all inside !, except the playfulness leaked out through everywhere. So, is the eye the window of the soul for the viewer? So often it’s said focus on the eyes. Do the closed eyes detract ? taken on 5d, iso 4000, 1/45th, fstop 2.5 on 50mm lens

I think it’s brilliant in colour also…..a lot of the time, images like this are transformed into b/w and I’m glad you didn’t with this.

I think the closed eyes can be forgiven in this one! Looks like he’s having a great time.
I like it – its a bit of shame the pink sweater distracts a little
still though great expression on his face.
