I was at two motocross events over the weekend, on Sunday Park in Youghal held the over 35 and under 21 championship, and on Monday there was a grasstrack event in Cloyne. I most give the sensor a clean, I keep forgetting about it till I m at events!

Nice set of shots, really like #2 & #6.

#2 is a tough shot to nail, you’ve done it well, nice sense of motion in #6

#2,#6 & #9 would be my favourites. Great set of images. Well done

The third one down is Luke Pardy as far as I know but I am after a few beers so I might be squinting a bit :-) I’ll show him the pic, he’ll be delighted with it ! Would you mind if I asked you what camera and lens you’re using ? I’m keen to get into the motocross photography as a hobby and was thinking of an EOS 7D but not sure about the lens. Any tips ? You seem to have it well sorted !

    Thanks for all the comments.

I was using a Canon 1D Mk2 N along with a Canon 70-200mm F2.8. The lens seems pretty suited to the tracks I have been too, but I have only been to Motocross a few times. I generally use slow shutter speeds, like 1/160 or or 1/200 but it depends on what part of the track you are at.

Just looking at that lens there, she’s a nice bit of kit. I’d be saving for a while for one of those :-)
