First Holga 120N Shots…

MarkKeymaster
Bought a Holga from damien_murphy on the site here and ran a roll through on Sunday.
Glad to report that the camera worked a treat, thanks Damien. Quite liberating and enjoyable not having to
worry about manual mode, metering etc… :)I’m ready for a new Lofi event ;)
Anyhow, a couple of quick shots below from the Cork Docklands (ignore the odd dust spot):
Well out of date Tri-x 400, developed in Rodinal 1:25 for 7 mins and scanned.
damien.murphyParticipantaoluainParticipantMartinParticipantWell done Mark, two very nice pictures
The Holga pictures are so easy to print in the darkroom. So get in there….
MarkKeymasterThanks lads, much appreciated. I’ve wanted to use a Holga for ages and pretty pleased with it so far.
Just loaded it up with another roll :)Martin: I got back in the darkroom over the weekend for the 1st time this year!. Plan on getting in there
weekly if I can at all.Anyhow, thanks again all.
EddieParticipantLooks like a good one Mark nice central sharpness in the images, as Martin says easy to print, I generally go straight to GR 5 for the Holga images. I used two roll of that Tri x well out of date about 8 years but was really impressed with the results. I developed in in Id 11. Does anyone know if Tri x is still available fresh.

Not in 220 anymore, but TX-400 in 120 is freely available from what I can see..
thefizzParticipantTri-X is still being made and widely available as far as I know. Why do you think it may be otherwise Eddie?
jb7ParticipantWell done Mark-
though maybe you could have used this post to resuscitate the LoFi section-
seems to have died a death-Probably due to most of the regulars jumping ship…
That’s a pretty wild example you’ve acquired, compared to some of the others I’ve seen-
though you’re not always sure how much cropping has gone on, without showing the rebates-MarkKeymasterThanks Joseph and good point about Lofi !. Thread will be moved :)
As for cropping, all the image is there except for the rebates so you’re getting the full effect good or bad :)

I have not used it in a long time, also I have lost track of Kodak films that are still available.
thefizzParticipantAs far as I know there is still Plus-X, Tri-X, Tmax 100, Tmax 400 & Tmax 3200 (35mm only).
clive08Participantthese are really nice, some people dont like the vignetting but i bloody love it. like a natural frame. lovely.
MarkKeymasterThanks Clive, much appreciated.
Here is another from the roll. Just noticed aside from the bit of dust that it’ll need a bit of work on the bottom of
the shot in the darkroom where the dark line is. Hmmm. All good fun though…
