Wedding- Sept. 2011, Westport, Co. Mayo.

bride2bParticipant
Hi,
Just found this website, some great photographs- well done.
As the title says- Sept 2011, Westport. We are Dubs, so we don’t know anyone local. I know it’s a bit away but we are just starting our prep and are looking for someone who will take the photos for us at our wedding. We are on a tight budget so cost is a biggy! It will be a small wedding with approx. 60ish guests.
The kind of photos I like (rightly or wrongly?!) are non posed, casual ones.
Just wondering if someone around Mayo, Galway would be interesed and if so could we see some of your work and also how much would you charge (we’ll throw in a dinner!).
Looking forward to replies.
Thanks.
brianmaclParticipantFirst of all congratulations,
If you want to keep cost down you can take a risk with a student or non pro trying to build up a portfolio, but just remember it is a risk, with an experienced pro with a strong portfolio you have a better idea of what you are going to get. I am sure you will get offers from free to €3k+, with the cheaper ones make sure they have enough equipment and I would allow them a small budget to hire extra kit. the more serious pros will have everything they need. also check out it they have insurance, you don’t want them knocking something over at the reception and then not being anywhere to be found leaving you with an extra bill.
For about €1,000-1,300 you could get me and a second shooter and then you would be paying for extras such as prints… but I am not a specialist and personally I would always go with a specialist, you should see the amount of interiors photographs that I see that are rubbish despite being taken by a pro photographer, the problem being he/she specalised in fashion or weddings and not architecture.
Good luck
Brian

corParticipanthey,
ìll do it for E600, you can expect 300-350 images on a DVD for that price, an album can be arranged but seeing your on a tight budget, I would imagine your organising that youself, you can contact me through my website.RathcooleMemberHi,

GCPParticipantHave a look at my website http://www.gerrycostello.ie. I have full public liability, professional indemnity insurance which is being asked for in many venues nowadays. Over 25 years in business and a few thousand weddings covered to date. Our prices are not and never were at the expensive end and, if anything, would be considered at the end of the market,
Anyway, have a peek and best of luck in your future lives together
djbutsyParticipantHi Bride2B
Hopefully your preperations are coming along fine and you have nearly completed and you can begin to relax :) If you have yet to accept a photographer we (my partn)er and I) wwould be happy to photograph your special day and you get to photographers for the price of one. Basically what you would get for your money would be full DVD of the best pictures on the day fully edited to the highest standard, a photo album of 100 pictures and a slidshow of all pictures.
The bonus of two photographers is one can be with the bride early morning getting ready and the other with the groom capturing each moment as they occur. Also the main event is being taking head on throughout the day you have a second view of photographs that can be rare due.
Let me know if you are interested and I can send you on our site with many examples of weddings / events.
thx & either way have a special day
