Lovely shot Chris, I captured something similar a few years back and I’m still happy with it.

Nice idea. I would have processed the background a little different. I would assume that you were trying to tone it down a bit to keep the attention on the two children. Would perhaps adjust the highlights a little to make it looks a little less gray and to bring out a little more detail in the foilage?
Also, for the composition, it looks as if the path is turning right, if you had to have taken a step or two to the left and still kept the children in the center, then you *MAY* have been able to include more of the path in and give it a longer, look to it. Just my 2cents
