(like) a fish out of water

From a shoot a good while ago. This is Grainne who is a competitive swimmer. They show her focus and dedication pretty well, but I’d have liked to reveal something more of the other sides to her. I guess that’s more challenging than lighting or any other technical bits. Which is what portrait photography is all about. C&C welcome! Thanks, Pete
Hi Pete – great lighting in these and i like them.
I think No.2 has the potential to be a real winner. To my eyes, she is leaning to one side a bit – or the camera wasn’t straight….either way – i’d open it in photoshop, drag a slider across to the centre – and make it perfectly symetrical by rotating the image.
Currently the vertical centre line goes through her right nostril.
here is a quick edit i did and desaturated it a little.
