Trip to West Cork
-
esthermolineParticipant
I’m not very experienced when it comes to landscape shots but I took quite a few of them in a recent trip to West Cork and Kerry last July. Some of them I thought were suited to black and white. Would love to have your opinion!
Barley Cove beach
Killarney National Park
Reflections at Ballydehob
Misty view from the road
RASMITH32MemberNIce Set, Love the reflections and great sharpness all the way through , I think I would brighten the bridge though on trhe top right. I know the shot is all about the reflections But its nice to have your eye run along the water up to the bridge. The bridge would form a better point of interest for me than the farm house if you know what I mean?. The first is nice also though would be better if the foreground interest (footprints in the sand) were a bit clearer
esthermolineParticipantThanks a lot for the reply, RAS, much appreciated! I totally see your point about the bridge. It’s a nice feature which kind of goes unnoticed, but I have no idea how to brighten it up without overbrightening the rest of the picture. Is that something you can do in Photoshop? I don’t have it, just use Picasa for my image editing at the moment. A little secret about the footprints: I didn’t even see them when I took the picture, so I just got lucky to have that foreground interest even though as you say it’s very faint and it can easily go unnoticed. Thanks a mil for the feedback! :D
RASMITH32MemberHi, yes it was the dodge tool I was referring to in PShop. Well worth getting a copy of PS to process your shots.
esthermolineParticipantThanks RAS! Hopefully I’ll be getting Photoshop Elements soon and I’ll be able to do more with the editing of my pictures, although generally I’m not into heavy-duty processing. Still, it will come in very handy for things like what you point out here!
