    Appreciate your thoughts on these?

    I will focus on 1st.

Hmm some idea there but I think we should be able to see more face and second eye. Flower could be only on lips and nose or only lips. That’s my idea for that pic. Also more light on it not too much but it looks sad, rotten ;)

    Thanks for the feedback guys.

As for technique, a black backdrop in a darkened bedroom with a single softbox to the right of my budding models.

SHots taken with my canon 40D and 50MM 1.8 lens at about 3.5. Mixed shutter speed across the shots.

The shots were taken in B&W (not converted). Post processing was completed in PShop with the layer duplicated 3 times. one with a normal blending mode, one with an Overlay blending mode to blacken all the blacks and one with a screen blending mode just to lighten the face.

The 2nd, 3rd and fourth shots have cross processing applied in the curves tool just to make them pop a little.

the second shot is fantastic great light and shade movement etc. – if i was picky might clone out the fingers just entering frame
ps thanks for the tip on processing to black and white – will have to give that a go
