I was surprised to see the results so far after submitting my D200 vote. Thought I’d be the only one :D

Love the camera, but hope to move to a D300s sometime in the future :) the main reason being the better ISO noise handling and I’d make use of the HD video filming the kids, Live view is a nice extra too. But ergonomically the D200 is the same, lovely cam to hold and use.

I use a D200 too. Surprised to see it as the most popular.

I’m very happy with it but plan on buying the D400 or whatever the next replacement for the D300s is called.

Looking at the D7000’s specs, the D400 is going to be very impressive.

I don’t actually need to upgrade but I’d like higher ISO reach, better noise handling, better autofocus and more megapixels (12 or 14 would be fine but the more the merrier really). I also would love a movie mode – just for fun, stills will still be my priority.

I would love a D300s, they probably won’t be within my reach until that D400 arrives and the current D300s users flog their old models – I’ll be waiting :D

Happy enough for the moment. the D200 is the best built camera I’ve ever owned, and I’m getting nice images from it. It’s a top camera to learn on, with a tight budget. Using this for a while the switch to a 300s will be nice and smooth.

Can’t see the Sony A350 on the list… That’s my camera of choice.

I used Canon 40D but had to sell it. My next camera will probably be Nikon D3 (want to buy an used one).

very surprised by the D90 count. I thought that would have a much higher user count. I offered trade of my D200 with extras for a D90 and the seller arrogantly told me he wanted to move up in models, not down!? The D200 is a much better built camera, ok, it’s older. But since when did that = worse? When it came out it was aimed at the semi-pro market, the D90 was aimed more at the general user. It doesn’t have a pro-build body, it’s not weather sealed, and despite the extra MP count the IQ is similar. Where it does beat the D200 is how it handles noise at higher ISO levels, and it’s got Live view – if you need it. That’s about it.

The only reason I’d trade is because I want something lighter, with live view and I’d make use of the video function [gimmick] to record the kids. That’s the only reason I have mine up for sale [if you fancy a D200, see equip for sale ;) on here] – I still woul much prefer a D300s. Some day …

Mine is a Canon 500D. I got it last Christmas and so far it suits me well, though I have gotten some extra lenses and equipment on eBay.
