One of our Themes for upcoming monthly comps is Street so I have been out and about trying to capture something or at least get my creative juices flowing. Street photography is not something I do a lot of as I usually have a 2 year old in tow – and that’s not conducive to hanging around waiting for the right moment and composing and shooting :)

These are a few I took on Sat morning whilst the wee man was content to sit in his buggy.

    Smoke Break.

    Just Arrived

    Step up to the Spire.

‘Smoke Break’ and ‘Just Arrived’ for me.

I just ‘want to know more’ about the story in both!

The SPire seems to be a bit of a ‘problem’ for captures as commented on in an earlier Spire shot this week.
    It almost looks photoshopped in!

    Lovely shots all,
    Peter

Cheers Peter. Yeah the spire is so shiny that on a sunny day it really does jump out at you in a shot.

With the exception of “Step up to the Spire”, there was some narrative to each of the photos which I liked.

Like peterako I wanted to know more.

last one is an excellent shot. Works very well, attention is drawn to the center by both subjects as they are both converging, subject is obviously the kid, and the man behind focusing on the kid also helps draw your attention there. Good choice to stay with color also, a lot of street photographers seem to feel the need to take B&W only but color works great in a lot of situations, particularly here. Nice and sharp throughout also.
