BrickerParticipant
Spotted this guy (?) on his “LML Star” scooter in Kenmare of all places.
Not sure if it was the sandles or the crafty use of plastic sheeting to keep his legs dry, or maybe it was those Dora the Explorer glasses….. whichever, I couldnt resist sneaking a quick one before he sped off.
He was stuck in a traffic jam leading to the horse fair… maybe he was planning a trade in?
shutterbugParticipantLove his sandles! :) pity there isnt a little more light on his face, but difficult
with that enourmous visor on his helmet.BrickerParticipantThanks for the comment, I think the visor was to keep the rain off the glasses, rather than to shade his eyes from the “sun”. :)
Liam2673ParticipantThis is the sort of shot that newspapers will need to wheel out in 30 years to show how grim Ireland was in the 2010’s what with recession…people driven to shopping in Lidl and so on.
He’s a good character. Fair play to him for getting around when he could be standing at a bus stop for half an hour with his OAP pass. It looks like some of the gear has been kept in the press under the stairs since the 1960s, the helmet and the coat especially.
No right wing mirror either….can’t have that now sir.
BrickerParticipantI know what you mean.
See how poised he is ready to tear off? In gear, clutch engaged….. the look of fear may be due to the cops on point duty up ahead….. I wonder was he taxed & insured?
Sandles, Plastic sheeting rain gear, recycled glasses ….. and 170 mpg – and probably stinking rich too!
wirepicParticipantstreetshooterMemberA lot of charm in this shot – very well spotted. What is it like in colour?
BrickerParticipantThanks for the comments folks.
For Streetshooter, here is the colour file (uncropped)
streetshooterMemberThanks Des. I prefer it to the B&W, but with the tighter crop. The scooter looks much better and the background colours add to the overall depth of the shot! IMHO
