Have been wanting to do this for a long time, but would never go into town after dark
on my own, so who is up for an evening meet to do the night scenes of Dublin Docklands?
Was thinking of starting at the Custom House and working down the docks towards the
new bridge and then around the New Concert Hall, shouldnt take more than a couple of
hours and a lot of nice photo opportunities around that area.

Any interest for the beginning of November? week night? Thinking around 8th?
Hopefully will get half a dozen of us (safety in numbers :) )

I’ve been in this area a few times with Dave McKane’s Institute of Photography, most recently this evening! [Thanks Dave!]

II’d be up for a repeat visit, though. As you say, there’s safety in numbers.

Was just having a think about this, what about having the 8th November as “PI Night shoot night”?
if someone would like to organise a local shoot in their area and then post up the results in one
    thread.

I kind of like the idea of a mass of PI’ers all out at 8pm on the 8th November all over Ireland

Very good idea Jenny. I’ve always been interested in taking street photos at night.
Have some ISO3200 film sitting in a camera ready to use :)

Maybe change the title to reflect your idea?

    Jenny,

I’ve made this post into an Event so it appears on the calendar and in the upcoming events at the bottom
of the site (btw PI Events display in bold). You can change it if you want etc….

    thanks

Cool, count me in. Have been meaning to get back into some night shooting for a long time, and you beat me to it by a few days – I was just about to suggest some sort of night time shooting meetup.

I have a new superfast f1.1 for my M3 on the way, and am keen to leave it probe the night fantastic :)

Perhaps if the 8th turns out well, some people might like to make it an ongoing thing. I for one would love to explore Dublin by night, and would love to shoot some more deliberate tripod-mounted night landscapes down the line too.

Come on Lads and Lasses who is willing to arrange a meet in their area?
Half a dozen or so people in as many areas as possible for the 8th November…. :D
All that is needed is a place to meet up, who knows we may get into the Guinness book of Records
for the largest photoshoot in Ireland

Right, the title has been changed to reflect a multi-location shoot.

So anyone in Waterford, Wexford, Limerick, Galway, Cork etc… fancy getting out on the same evening ?
