Laminating Images

Hi all.
Has anyone done any home laminating? Cold or Hot?
I’m interested in putting a textured laminate over some prints, then put them in frames without glass.
I’ve seen cold laminate rollers, and cold film with linen/luster/canvas textures, just wondering if anyone here has any experience of them?

have a cold press and a hot vacum press
the hot vacum gives a better finish
also with cold lamination you have to be very careful what papers you use
