Money?? All I get are bills.
Unfortunately, the term media pass is just that – for media.
You generally need a media outlet behind you. It’s not easy getting in to events and such.
Also, when you do these things, make sure your insurance is up to date, especially your PL, just in case something goes wrong.
EamonnParticipantIt would be mostly for sport. I go to a lot of motorcycle road racing but don’t really need anything for that. I would need something for short circuit and for getting into the pitch at GAA games.
KMM2010Participantsay if u were trying to get a media pass for music events, concerts, stage shows as well as outdoor and indoor gigs at the o2 and rds, oxegen how would you go about getting one, be better position to get photographs, also would there be image rights issues in regards selling images afterwards?
paulParticipantUsually, the promotors grant access. But, you need to have a valid reason to be granted access to photograph, such as working for a media outlet.
It’s not as simple as showing up with a camera, or saying you’re with the press.
And yes, there may be issues with media rights. So it will also depend on why access is given.
KMM2010Participantyeah but in order to get access u need a media pass, how u ya go about getting one for a number of events?

In general, you can’t. They’re issued event by event.
There is no magic “press pass”.
It would usually be up to the editor to arrange your media pass.
