i’m on the look out for something like that too…but so far i only found specific workshops
online learning is one option but i would prefer a proper course.

Funny thing is i have been asked a couple of times to do photography courses for local youth projects but i dont think i have the confidence to do it :(

I dont think some of the online courses are that good as my project paid for one for me to do and it was in my opinion very badly designed not really catering to novices and not really catering to the more experienced.

    Just an opinion :)

well Mark, looking at your flickr photostream it looks to me like plenty of us could learn a lot from you ;)
you have some lovely pictures and you go through various techniques and a good twist of creativity.
    well done!!
I think you ‘re not too far away from me so if you do decide to do something locally, give me a shout :D

    Hi Kindrum
As Cathal says , a camera club is a great place to learn as well. We have one set up in Letterkenny and we meet every monday Night in the RCC (behind the Theatre).Things that we do include
    1. Activity Nights , where members present a topic they either researched or have a good knowledge of
    2. Have Photo themes where members submit a photo each month, this really make you get out there and shoot.
    3. Currently in the middle of a 2/3 night course on Photoshop basic and this will advance over time.(again given by one of our members)
    4. Have day trips
and basically do what most camera clubs do.
We have only set up last Summer , but personally myself I’ve picked up a lot from it since then – Still have a long long way to go, but enjoying it.
If you’re interested why not call in any Monday Night to the RCC (from 7:00-9:00)
    Visit our Website http://zero74.com/lkfoto/” onclick=”window.open(this.href);return false;

hah thanks for the kind comments will my head fit through the door anymore

I would have said Christina your more than a little competent already :)

As has been said a club or any kind of social interaction with others through a suitable forum erm like er this one :) is invaluble and can be quite mind opening and thought provoking.

Its quite amazing how with time you change and what you photograph and how you do it is reflected in that.
