Anyone using Fomapan 100? Care to share developer/dilution etc? I have tried it in Rodinal Special using a time from the massive dev chart but not with great results. I need to develop a few sheets of it and am willing to use a different developer (I need something commonly available though .. something I can run into Gunns and pick up tomorrow)

I don’t know what they have in Gunns but I have gotten good results with HC-110 Dilution B for 10 minutes on a 120 roll.

Hi Hugh, in what way were the results not great with Rodinal Special? If they look under or over developed, then why not try changing the development time or dilution?

I knew someone would say that :-) I’m actually really bad at evaluating negs and then adjusting development to improve them. So all I can really say is they look bad. Very little shadow detail I suppose. However, in my defence the exposures themselves are of wildly varying lengths and with wildy varying lighting conditions from shot to shot so it’s not easy anyway to make appropriate adjustments.

Anyway, in my impatience I ran out and got some Rodinal/R09. There is a recommended time on the Fomapan spec sheets for this … whereas there wasn’t for Rodinal/R09 Special … it’s in the tank as we speak …

I developed some fomopan 35mm in rodinal and got very very dense negatives, I have not even tried to print them yet, although when I look at them on a light box I can see some detail. next roll will get about 1 minute less developing or would someone suggest a weaker dilution (i use 1-9) although unless the negs are really good I doubt I will use again as its not that much less than t max or delta and I cant see the point,
