Hi,
I joined a while back but never introduced myself. So here goes-
I’m Patrick Dinneen (35), from Cork but living in Galway, West Ireland.
Most of the photos I take are taken from around Galway and are an eclectic mix- anything that catches my eye.I often try to take shots that are a bit different from the norm, espically if it’s a often shot landmark etc.I got a Panasonic FZ-28 a few years back, liked it a lot (expect for low light and lack of bokeh). Along came my kids and it was a good excue to upgrade to a DSLR.So now I shoot mainly with a Pentax K-X. I have a Pentax 18-250 and Santy is getting me a Tamron 17-50mm f/2.8. I had to sell my 50mm f/1.7 to finance it. (lovely lens but I had to step back too often).
I keep a Panasonic TZ3 compact on me for anything I stumble upon and don’t have my Pentax with me. It’s great for macro/close up shots. thinking of swapping this for a ‘high end compact’- Canon S90/95 or Samsung TL500/EX1, which looks like a lovely camera.

I’m planning on changing it to a website, which would incorporate a photoblog section, gallery etc.. Pa.Hi Pa and welcome to the site, start posting and I’m sure you will find out how different your images are. Also you will get plenty of information on the high end compacts if your looking for advice.
