Hi There, Starting up new business??

  Hi everyone,

  Im new here, Im just at beginning stages of setting up a photography business on a small scale at first, I have a studio ready to work from and will also travel to peoples homes to specialise in newborn photography.

  Whats first thing to do, what forms do i need to fill out for tax man? funding? etc etc

  any information would be great thank you

  3 types of pro photographers:
  Good photographer, bad business person…… will go hungry
  Bad photographer, good business person….. Will make a living
  Good photographer, good business person….. Can make a killing

  Business plan
  Register as self employed
  Register for vat
  Insurance
  IPPA
  Web site

  get an accountant

  get some business advise

  do some serious marketing and market research

  and dont be suprised if it takes at least 18months to get off the ground and actually make money

  Hi thanks for that guys

  I have completed a start your own business course so im a little bit more up to date,

  Im thinking of getting into property photography at the moment assisting estate agencies and hotels and self catering business.

  So here i go! very scary but exciting and i love a challenge

  not recruiting just yet:)
