Thereare business owners on here, so putting up some extra info on your post would be helpful:
on your web site it says you are self tought but you are in college?
It says you are self employed, are you insured?
Take a look at the ippa web site email all photographers in your area that you think you would like to work for, then a few days later follow up with a call
I only started college in September.
I started photography 3 years ago & have taught myself up untill college… their is only so much someone can teach themselves.
Saying that while teaching myself I’ve landed myself over 100 jobs, & in the last year have had 4-5 publications.
Both myself & my camera equipment are insured. & while on work experience I’ve insurance through the college aswell as family insurance.
Insurance, you are not insured as a photographer I presume:
household insurance does not cover any equipment used in a professional nature ….. It is in the small print, even if you list your kit they won’t pay out if they know you use it for making money
The insurance most photographers have is a minimum of public liability insurance, should your tripod fall over and your camera hit someone, then you are safe.
We have a form from the college that says we are fully insured so unless the college is lying… I am insured???
Also all as far as I know… all of my equipment is ensured or most of it is.
& I don’t use a tripod 98% of the time.
