My son Jack is crazy about Toy Story so it was a task just to try and get him to stay still for a moment over Christmas. Today, I managed to convince him to hold still for a few seconds just to snap him and his latest favorite toy! Nikon D700, 50mm 1.4.
C&C Welcome
SodafarlMemberStephen,
Nice capture, the things you have to do to get photograph. You have blurred the background out nicely.
Bet Jack liked it too.
How do you find the D700?Soda
sirvadMemberLike this alot. i presume its natural lighting as the Christmas Tree lights look wel??l. Well done!
ssheridanMemberHi Soda,
Thanks for the comments. Looking at the photo now I think its lacking some contrast on the right hand side because of the light coming through the window. However, trying to get a 2 1/2 yr old to stay still is near on impossible so I’m happy with this shot.
I have had the D700 since it was released in Ireland, I upgraded from my trusty D200 and made the leap to full frame. I have to say that I love the D700, its my most used camera. This camera paired with a fast prime lens such as the 50mm 1.4 is a dream for shooting indoors and low light situations. Nikon has not revved the D700 since its release, maybe the next update will have video capabilities, improved sensor, processor etc. However, it will be hard to improve on such a great camera. I don’t go for much marketing blurb, but I think Nikons tag line for the D700 really says it all about this camera “I am a purist”.
From a Nikon FanBoy!

Interesting to read your comments on the D700, I am still using a D200 ready to change but don’t want to invest in the D700 until they update it, my luck would be that I would buy and they would update! Had a look at your website, great shots.
