Taken the Monday before Christmas…..22nd Dec i think. I liked the first of the two bike shots but was disappointed with the bike was out of focus, I didn’t notice until i got home.

#5 (2nd bike) is the most interesting. Something compelling about the basket hanging its nose in the air while the man is walking. Yes, it isn’t super sharp but that doesn’t bother my scense of the story line. Clone out the bright light in that window. The height of the building is part of the drama. = part of whatever the bicycle is trying to tell us

The others are nice snaps but have no grit to them. #1 could be interesting but the angle doesn’t work for me. Try cropping in progressively from the right? What speaks to me are the buildings awaiting young academics coming by bicycle. You’d wait forever for the shot, but in my minds eye the humans don’t add to the dialog.

I like #1. If you can desaturate on yellow channel it will be better (I think ;) ) Try it monochrome if that doesn’t. It’s all about “blurring” the obvious plastic fences and the kip in the background.
Agree with pelagic tip to crop from the right to get rid of the building corner.

Thanks for the tips guys. Regarding no.1 I might have a look at monochrome, though to be honest I don’t mind the yello two much, it needs a splash of colour somewhere, its just not very nice colour I guess.

Was disappointed myself with the bike shots, it was a lovely bike and the chrome handle bars and the bell against the background of the snow could have made for a lovely photo but i didnt get one…..fingers were about to fall off me at the that stage though and it was getting dark.

Good series of shots, I really like the first and do like the muted colours.
