shutterbugParticipantShe is a very pretty girl, but those lips  She needs to stay
away from the lip gloss which make her lips look a bit like two slugs
sorry I dont mean to be rude but they are very noticeable, I think if
she used a matte finish lipstick and use a lip pencil on the inner line
of her lips it would look so much better. The shots are very nicely
composed the first being my pick. :)edwinParticipantshutterbugParticipant:lol: Yes I appreciate that, but as the photographer do you not get to advise
her what you want from the picture? It would be also in her own interest to
be advised what “works” makeup wise if she wants to do further modelling.edwinParticipantyes of course i understand that……….but its lip gloss i didnt mind it , I taught it was nice ……and just to point out that thats all her no lip liner noting …….just gloss. ur not the only person to comment on the lips.
pelagicMemberEdwin,
Did you do any touch up on her skin? She’s a wonderful young lady with extraordinary complexion. Almost too good, hence the question.
In #1, the light thru the trees and sparkle of jewlery are nice.Jenny makes an interesting point, but IMHO it misses the fact that she is a wonderful example of a non-Irish blood line.
But Jenny’s right, in that, if she wants to model here she might have to tone down some of her features. On the other hand she is quite exotic just as she is!
Portraits aren’t my game but I have questions:
In #1, Why did you crop her hair?
In #1, what about your shot or processing removed the color between her iris and pupil? I see no diff.

In #2, I don’t understand the pose. Is it a standard that I wouldn’t know?edwinParticipantthis was one pic i was not goin to use but after reviewing it i saw a little potential.
1 there was no cropping in the shot it is as it was shot.
1 it was a very dark pic as the flash didnt fire hense the eyes been so dark.
1 the light throug the tress on the jewlery is just lucky
2 as for the pose…. its her first shoot and my 8 or so ….im not a pro only started with models last april. Its def not americas next top model pose but i have seen worse, i gues su can call it safeedwinParticipantShea a great girl only 16. her skin had an amazing tone to it and a lovely compleaction, but as u said her feature are of an non irish blood line

1 it was an underexposed pic, i had an off camera flash but the origanal eyes are just as dark. i used a litle dodge and burn, and ran it through professional portature and reduced the opasity to around 40 %

edwinshutterbugParticipantI hope I didnt come across as derogatory, I didnt mean that I dont like her lips,
just the way the lip gloss makes them look, she has the most beautiful mouth that
people would pay hundreds for, but with the natural pigmentation around her top
lip there are better ways with makeup to enhance them.pelagicMemberJenny,
You’re one of the nicest souls here on PI.
I don’t think that anyone would be taking you up wrongly.
edwinParticipantno not at all, i didnt take it that way either, but she was on about it herself, and worried they wud ruin the pics
pelagicMemberEdwim,
Your model is a striking young woman. If she has concerns about her image, your great images will help her see herself through another set of eyes.
She’ll be able to make her own decisions. And maybe she’ll come up with the same ideas as Jenny.
Since makeup is a girl thing, I’ll be out of character and have zero opinion.
