I tried a few moonlit landscapes the other night up at the Isle of Doagh. Focusing was tricky in the dark but it’s interesting to see the landscape lit up in your camera when you can hardly see the scene yourself.

Who would have thought they were night shots, well done, the second is my favourite,
probably because the stars are more prominent, what settings did you use?

    Mark,

    I’m for two too.

The foreground leads you in very nicely. Then my eyes alternate between the awesomeness of the stars and trying to see details in the town.

    Well done.

#2 for me as well. How long did you have to leave the shutter open to achieve these shots ?

Thanks for all the comments. I’ve updated the post with the settings used.

The settings used were a balance between using a fast enough shutter speed to stop the stars from trailing and a low enough ISO to minimise noise. The rest of the light was provided by the moon.
