Hi Pete, firstly I would say that the foreground is to dark and undescernible. Even if it was exposed better I do feel , for a picture whos main focus is the sky, there is to much going on in the forground. What you could do is look to isolate a forground feature and look to use this to draw your eye to the sky. The forground interest could be exposed so you can see the detail but equally if the shot is about the sky, a darkened sillouette will work also.
Thanks for the advice, I can see what you mean, I’ll try an edit and see how it goes. Unfortunately there was no way I could get the shot with out the stuff in the foreground as I was taking it from my attic and there is a bloody great wall and row of pine trees infront of my house and I couldn’t get high enough to see over the completely.
Peter your sky is lovely but you have no worthwhile subject matter or point of interest. You need something with a strong shape to go along with your sky.
