Loving Gaze

DedalusParticipant
Seeing as tomorrow is Valentines Day here’s a photo of a couple taken at the Central Bank. Ahhh young love, you can’t beat it.
It might be a bit soft but I think its nice.C&C welcome and appreciated
Canon EOS 1n
Ilford Delta 100stevebMemberI see what you were at, but its lacking something.. It’s soft as you say, and the passing bus does not help much.
ExpresbroParticipantI’m looking at this shot and I’m thinking, that it’s true that the bus doesn’t add much to the shot as it is…if there had been someone sitting in that bus looking out at the couple it would have transformed an okay shot into a really good shot.
Such is Street Photography. It’s all about that moment :-)
Robbie
DedalusParticipantCheers guys, sometimes you get lucky sometimes not, keep the faith thats the main thing
wirepicParticipantThere’s a nice contrast in styles between him and her. Him with his Iron Maiden t-shirt and her with her… Well, someone will just have to tell me what that look is!
MartinOCParticipantYou caught a great moment there but such is the lot of street the background often takes away from a good shot. The ee/ee between them doesn’t help. I don’t think softness matters so much, I didn’t notice it myself, it is a natural look for street photography.
Wirepic That look has been quite common in Japan for years, they call it lolita style here, but it has nothing to do with the Nabokov novel.
DedalusParticipantTo be honest when I took the shot I didn’t even notice the bus, when I scanned the neg and saw it I thought the address on the side of the bus was kind of relevant to where the shot was taken but that’s probably only clear to me, I’ll just keep trying and hopefully I’ll get that one great shot we all aspire to. Its a nice day maybe I should head into town this afternoon and chance my luck.
EddieParticipantI really like the image, including the Bus, with a bit of work it will make a nice print. Nice mix between fashion and street.
DedalusParticipantThanks Eddie, I’m going to take it into the darkroom at some stage to see if I can do it justice.
