  Hi,
  I’m a total newbie to DSLR photography and just learning as I go….any thoughts or tips for improvement would be great….

  Hi Carol

  You have some wonderful colors in this shot which I like a lot
  It could do with some foreground interest to lead you through the shot
  Get a bit closer to the water and perhaps lower down
  Keep at it and don’t be afraid to ask questions here on the site
