Sigma 70-200 purchased – closed.

  Hi

  I am looking for a faster lens for the short tele space.
  f/2.8 and either 70-200 or 80-200, perhaps 180 or 200 primes. It must auto focus on D3000, so for sigma HFM or internal motors for other brands (Tamron or Nikon)

  Also, i’m on a budget. So no 70-200 Nikon VR2 at 2000€ ;-)

  I’m looking to upgrade from the Nikon 70-200mm VR1 to the VR2.

  The lens I have is in mint condition, comes with all the original caps, hood, case, box and instructions. Lens is about 2 years old, been used for 3 weddings and about half a dozen landscape outings

  I based in Cork City.

  Make me a sensible offer and we can go from there?

  I honestly think my budget is out of range of the Nikon 70-200.
  I am at a max of 600€ Which is more a Sigma/Tamron price range.

  I thought so, i expect to end up with Nikon 80-200 or Sigma 70-200

  Good luck with the upgrade. I did see some complaints from up-graders regarding the real reach of the VR2, seems that on short focusing the range is far from 200mm, sure you can Google more info on that if you are interested.
