Dolmen Silhouette

I took this during the week. At the time I loved it, now I’m not so sure. Should I have tried to keep some detail or does it work as a silhouette?

I had a similar dilemma with Poulnabrone Dolmen at sunset – I eventually went back and took a few different angles, one of which worked a lot better. In my opinion I think the problem here is that it’s not really discernable as a dolmen so has lost it’s impact, despite the sky being perfect around it. It would possibly have worked better if you had been able to get an angle that allowed you to see through the structure, therefor showing its shape and angles a bit better. “Close, but no cigar” is the expression I think :D

Hey Kev great shot love the way the dolman is surrounded by cloud it almost mirrors the dolman . I think I would fall on the side of some detail is good though..

Thanks for the feedback guys. I’ll see if I can drag any detail form the RAW file.

I finally got around to pulling out some of the shadow details from the RAW file. Is this better?
