Possible stupid question!!

  Hi all,

  Hope this question isnt too silly but all this is totally new to me. Im using a Sony NEX 3, on the 18-55mm lens, to zoom in/out I know you turn the part of the lens that is closest to the camera body, but what is the part that is furthest from the camera body turned for??? Hope im making sense here???

  Not sure about this particular lens, but I’ll assume it’s the focusing ring.

  yep. the second ring is a “focusing ring”, i f You want to check how is work, just swich off Autofocus , now you can turn on (left or right) to get sharp picture :-)

  wooow , what a radical move :-) , U know “sometimes” autofocus is usefull as well :-)

  Dont ever try to turn it when the AF is in the “ON” position, I know someone that forced it and broke the focusing ring.
