Hi all,
A few first time shots below, as above, comments welcome.. good or bad as it will only make me improve.
Last picture is my 7 1/2 month pregnant girlfriend.

steelydanParticipantI’ll throw some light onto these Jonnie.
Photo#1 The houses in the background are distracting, it makes me look at them everytime i try to envisage what you intended to photograph. The rocks have good textures and photographing them in a group, makes it kind of “muddled” photo. If you concentrated on textures or lines in individual rocks ,it would have made it more interesting to other photographers.
Photo#2 The Structure in white, is out of focus, thats because you shot it at an aperture of f4.5, if you intended to get both the rocks and the structure in focus you could have chosen f11, again its a muddled photo, and makes me wonder what you had as a photo in your head, and what you actualy shot.
Photo#3 Is a great record shot of your future, and one you will have for all times. Photographically, Look at the horizon behind your Girlfriend, can you see its at an angle. Its hard to notice these things as you were concentrating on the “belly”. But even if you crop out that side of the photo and i would have got rid of the handbag strap and it would make a beter photo.
Thing to improve on.
1. Dont shoot the sky if its that overcast, eliminate it from the photos, or aim to look for subjects that might look good in black and white.
2. Look out for details in rocks. ripples in sand, seashells.
3. Find something you like photographing, dont get stuck trying to perfect something that does not interest you.
4. Photograph the baby, every little inch of him/her. Fingers, toes, everythingHeres a version i did of your last photo, some might like it, somemight not.
JonnieReillyParticipantHi John,
Thanks very much for your feedback, its greatly appreciated as it will help me improve in my photography, and I love what you did with the last picture, excellent.
Thanks again.
JonnieshutterbugParticipantAgree with everything John said, but keep posting it is a great way of learning!
Also slow down take your time, and really look around you before shooting, look
through the viewfinder then look again to make sure anything you dont want in
the frame is not in the frame. But most of all enjoy your time out with the camera!
