5. Ondrej Jezek at Melbourne Loop
SodafarlMemberHi surprised the bike guys haven’t commented on these.
i know nothing about this type of photography but to me they look spot on great sharpness nicely panned and show the action well.
Really like the last one, had you a press pass or a really big lens.
What was your set up.Soda
bigjoeParticipantNice shooting. I can confirm that you did well as the Light was bad and man was it cold.
Donington is a great plase to take pictures without a press pass.pritchi83ParticipantHey Guys
Thanks for the replys and comments, i did have a press pass it was my first big event with a press pass too :). I was using a 7d with a 100=400 mm lens. It was tricky getting a good setting as the light wasnt great alright and as you said it was sooooo cold, i went on saturday in a t-shirt and had to buy a jacket as my arms were blue haha. Great day though Donny is a great track to shoot at i will definately be going back thats for sure
jungleParticipantFantastic shots,
I mean this in the purely in the photo oppertunity point of view but its a pity Marco Jerman didn’t highside, that would have made an incredible photo. I highsided once at Dunlop at mondello, I was gutted that the photographer I’d paid to take some shots didn’t catch it. LOL.Ondrej Jezek is so far over he could have put his elbow down, that was a great shot, you can really see him stretching to make the corner, staring at his exit point, you don’t need to see his face to picture the concentration.
You should send a couple of these into MCN, I bet they’d print them. Who gave you the press pass? That must have been great, were you allowed down to the pits too.
thanks for sharing.
Al.pritchi83ParticipantHi AL
Thanks a mil for the reply and comments. I got the press pass myself through my company and from work i had published before. I did also get access to the pits and garages which i could just walk in and out of which was great and the cherry ontop was i managed to get onto the grid for the second race :). It was very surreal walking down the grid with all the riders you can feel the intensitity, ill put up a few shots of the pits and the grid too
Cheers
JohnjungleParticipantDefinately post more, I’d love to see them. Have you uploaded them to flickr or anywhere I can look at the rest?
Thanks
AlwynMannyCParticipantmaxParticipantfoamcutterParticipantNice shots particularly the get off.
When you see the professional togs zipping around on mopeds with 2 bit’s of kit around their shoulders with lens 2′ long you feel a little inadequate with a humble 55-200 stock lens.

This was the best of my bunch, it was a pity Laverty had such a bad weekend.
