Lighting Kit – Help!
-
leanne134Participant
Hey guys,
I am pretty new to this but I am looking to set up a small home photography studio, I want to just dive in and start practicing portraits etc,.
However, as I am still pretty new I have a lot of questions, mainly about the lighting kit. Can someone please recommend a decent lighting kit for a beginner as I have seen many on Amazon etc and I am just totally lost as to what to buy. Bear in mind I am a student so I cant quite afford the Dlite 4.. Just looking for cheaper alternatives that would do a good enough job until i start to expand and learn more and can afford the proper professional stuff!Any help and advice would be much appreciated! thanks a millions
LeannecathaldParticipantHi Leanne

Dermot1Participantgo the strobist route and you can can spend as little or as much as you want, go to the flea bay and pick up a trigger and some receivers and get some flashes, stands and umbrellas and soft box if you want them, job done.
here’s some links but shop around and you’ll probably find cheaper.flash

thefizzParticipantHi Leanne,
I am running a Portrait Photography workshop on 18th June which covers a lot of what you have asked. It has been designed for those who do not wish to spend a lot of money on studio lights. It covers cheap do it yourself lighting as well as using available light. Details can be seen on the following web page: http://www.monochromemeath.com/section366150.html
