First attempt at street photography. Feel free to let me know what you think.

Don’t know much and not to say, haven’t done much (if any) street photography myself, but it seems like anyone could be good at it! :D Because there is so much around us to shoot!
I like the colourdy market ones and especially the one with the kid drinking with the straw and your one with a fag in the background, dis-gust-ing, but the picture works because of the idea!imo. Too bad the one sign is in her face. Strong meaning pictures like this are my cup of tea though! Show off the bad side, the sins of people and everyone would have something to say, as long as it’s not them on the picture!! :P
Some good impressions and moments overall.
Maybe the yellow sign on the left on the first one is distracting the “shadows vs light” feeling of the picture, crop it out perhaps?

As I said, don’t know much about street shots but this is my humble opinion :)

Little guy with the burger and the man in the window with his hands on his head are the keepers.
Great shots though and fair play for getting out there and documenting the world with your camera.
Also watch the light and remember that out of hundreds of photos taken there may only be a handful that will be keepers.
Best of luck and keep shooting.

The second last one is the pick of the bunch for me.

I feel the need to comment on these remarks – MY reading of street is, it is ALL about people’s emotions – NOT figures, objects, buildings, colours etc.
And it is bacause it is so narrow a segment, it is so difficult.
It’s more about timing and connecting with a certain situation, than it is about the technical side of photography!

My hero is Henri Cartier-Bresson. If you havn’t already check him out.

I just wish I could put the theory effect :(

#2 and the last one are the best in my opinion. Good use of light and shadow.

#3 may have worked if the shot was framed differently. (Sometimes difficult if you’ve been ‘spotted).

The others don’t hold my interest – the scenes themselves are not that interesting to me.

I disagree with sndipo though. For me, to get a good SP shot is extremely difficult. Like good landscape photography, it is more than just randomly shooting what is all around you.
