  Hi lads hows things?
  well im jamie, i live in Ashbourne, work with horses, drive motorbikes and im 17

  i went off and bought my first camera today which is a canon EOS 20D with a kit lens 8)

  im lookin to get in photography for mainly sport pictures, showjumping,racing, motorbike racing

  can anybody lead me in the right way for training and what not.

  Welcome to the site. You definitely sound like a candidate for fast telephoto kit (100mm and upwards in focal lengths and f/4.0 or larger/faster maximum aperture). Fairly high-quality first camera for sure !

  In regards to training/tutorials, it would probably be best if people were able to see any existing/current shots but if that’s not possible I’m sure people can still point out good resources to get started – I wouldn’t be in the sports area myself so can’t recommend anything specific for that at the moment unfortunately (but a browse through the Sports Critique section here will surely provide some great shots and relevant feedback from the community on them)

  Welcome to the site Jamie, the best advice I can give is get out there
  and take some pictures! Maybe join a camera club if there is one nearby as
  they can be very helpful, find a photo buddy to go out shooting with but
  most of all enjoy what you do! :)

  Agree with Jenny get out there and start taking photo’s and get use to your camera!
