an interesting place…….for those who haven’t been there, traffic between omey island and the mainland at claddaghduff runs for about 8 hours during the day. the pub in claddaghduff is the only one with a licence to stay open 24 hours a day. the reason is that in the situation that an islander pops over for a pint, and is then prevented from returning home by the incoming tide, then the pub is legally required to put this patron up for the night, and if that happens the bar can stay open for the full night also. Or so a local vet told me.
Quite a random place…. guess the young lads were out playing last night then
