Your horizon cuts your photo into equal halves which is inclined to make your photo very static. With that in mind I would be inclined to crop out half the height of the sky. You are right about the presence of the lone figure, it lends a certain atmosphere to your shot.
I re-cropped and I see exactly what you mean – its as if the higher plane of the horizon moves your eye into the picture, rather than the flat image presented with the horizon halfway down the shot. Again cheers for the guidance.
I’d prefer the original version myself, I think by making the person bigger you lose the feeling of expanse…I take Tex’s point but I’d be more inclined to crop below the person and include more sky….anyways..as you say, the silhouette makes it…
