ERROR 001 with canon 17-85mm what that means..

  hi there.. i just got the problem with my canon kit lens 17-85mm is usm..ERROR 001..anyone know about that?

  Err 01

  Communications between the camera and lens is faulty. Clean the
  lens contacts.

  Clean the electrical contacts on the camera and lens, use a Canon
  lens, or have the camera or lens checked or repaired. (p.13,16)
