Building sand castles

I don’t know if this is the section for this, I’ll get it moved if it’s not. I was walking my dog down on the beach and spotted a little girl building sand castles with a pringles can. I asked the lady with her if I could take some photos of them and she said it was okay. I would have been too shy to ask a few months ago and would have not taken the shot. I’m happy that I asked now, although I should have asked If she would like me to email the pictures to her. Oh well, you live and you learn. Enough of my ramblings, here are the photos.

    All C&C’s welcome.

    Hi Johny
I am very new to photography so I’am not sure if my comments are of much worth.
Personal I don’t think these images work, for me there just lacking something may
be If you moved closer and brought the camera nearer to the ground and try to find
a more interesting background. I am sure there is a great picture there.
I do really admire your guts for asking to take the picture, as this is a part of photography
    I still struggle with… :D

    Regards Gus

I agree. The composition of the shots are not great. A lower viewpoint would certainly improve these also you would need to get in closer. This would help to throw the background out of focus & would concentrate the viewers attention on the subject. Well done on overcoming what I believe to be the most difficult area of people photography, asking if they mind being photographed. (but may be wrong  ). Well done

Cheers for the comments and advice, Gus and Miki. Will keep the angle in mind in future.
