Space Cowboy. by keveb11, on Flickr[/img]After spending several days practicing with different lights and locations I ended up with this as the end result. This kind of photography takes time, but the results are well worth it. I am so happy with this photograph. Hope you also like it and please leave a comment.
keveb08ParticipantHairy GusParticipantNice work, great idea and stunning result.
I am not to keen on the lights in the foreground I find them a bit distracting, but hay thats just mt opinion.
Regards Guskeveb08ParticipantThanks Gus,
I had tried a few different effects in the foreground and this was the best result, without anything in the foreground there seemed to be something missing, I hope to try set up the shot again and will try different light effects.
Again thanks for you comments..
Hairy GusParticipantI have tried similar shots before and know how much work goes in to it,
so for the work alone you should be commended. Look forward to seeing the next shot, best of luck.
Regards GusmartinkingphotosParticipantI can imagine a lot of work and timing went in to this but the thing that catches my eye as soon
as I look at the photo is that the wall you are standing on is crooked. Maybe it slopes in reality
but I think if that was straightened up in photoshop the image would be stronger. Also I think that
slope could introduced some problems if you go to frame and hang the photo.sndipoMemberThis looks like a lot of effort! Very good. I would agree with the foreground being dominant, but otherwise great stuff!
westcoastMemberkeveb08ParticipantThanks everyone for all the comments, keep them coming.
And yes I see that the wall is crooked, I didn’t notice this when setting up the shot as it was pitch black. Will keep it in mind for next time.
Marc_corKParticipantHi Keveb,
Marc in cork here, just joined. Cool picture by the way. I have a Nikon D5000 and have just started messing around with it. I want to get big into Light Photography and i have nearly made my first proper ball of light. This is my first camera and i am really new to all this. Any tips or advice for me?. Got to get my shutter time more that 30 seconds its driving me nuts !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanx.keveb08ParticipantFaingParticipantIs it just me and my wonky eyes or does anyone else see a 3d effect in this pic? I think it is a very clever photograph. Well done.
Joey CParticipantGood work Kev, like a few here i’ve tried this and i know its hard sometimes to get exactly what you wanted or had in mind. Firstly i think its an excellent idea and well executed. Now this is just my opinion… but i think you put 2 nice ideas in this when (for me anyho..)either 1 would do. By that i mean the 3d effect of the red/green in the foreground is a nice touch..but so too is the luminous effect of the graffiti! With the firetrails on top of these its kinda crowded (again IMO).
I really like this though and am only commenting (not because i know more on the subject ) but because i like the subject and think ur on to something here.
Keep it up pls.
joekeveb08ParticipantHey Joe and Faing,
Thank you so much for your comments, it means a lot to a beginner like myself to receive such good feedback on my photo’s.
I love hearing other peoples opinion on my work, so I can learn and try any suggestions I receive, thanks again.
Joe, I think I know what you mean about 2 ideas going on, in fact I took this photo 5 times each time adding a little something extra and found the photo without the red and green effect in the foreground is missing something, I also tried it with blue light in the foreground but found this effect was too strong and overpowered the rest of the photo. I am just wondering if I should upload the rest of the set and you might see what I was trying to do, and then I could ask which one people like the most.
What you think?
Cheers,
Kev
