Problem with a flash

    Hi,

I’m having a problem with a flash. I’ve a Youngnuo wireless trigger witch I use with my E400 strobe and works just fine, today I tried to connected it to an old Cobra 440 flash but it is not working right.

When I plug the Cobra to my D7000 it works fine, it gives me a strong flash following by a high pitch sound, the same occur when I press the button behind the flash, but when I plug the flash to the receiver and trigger the flash either from the camera or the button on the top of the trigger I get a quite weak flash burst and no sound after it.

Can anyone give me a hand with this?

    Thanks,

    Tony.

your wireless trigger is not compatible with the cobra flash unit me thinks, also the weak flash is due to no info been passed between the trigger and flash, compatible issue.

    Hi Guys,

I got similar problem here, maybe somebody can help me.

I just got three “D-Lite it 4” strobes, it didn’t come as a kit. I haven’t had a chance to test them yet.

The strobes are brand new and I got them from B&H PhotoVideo, USA.

Now, the problem that I have is I can’t trigger them remotely/wirelessly. I am using PocketWizard Plus II for that purpose. PocketWizard is mounted on my camera’s hotshoe. It won’t trigger strobes even when I press TEST button on the pocket wizard.

Strobes can be triggered when pressing TEST button on the strobe and it can also be triggered with on camera flash using “Eye-Cell” function.

I have tried different channels on the strobe and on the PocketWizard, but it still doesn’t work.

I don’t know what I am doing wrong, or do I need some extra equipment and is PocketWizard compatible with “D-Lite it 4”.

    Thank you for your help.

the pocketwizard is not compatable with the dlites directly, you need a reciver on the dlites, which is a pocket wizard

if you have the new dlites with the skyports built in, then you can use a skyport transmitter on your camera to trigger them

    Thank you Steve,

Yes, I got the D Light with built in skyports.

Then another question: what about Sekonic L-758DR Light meter, I can’t triger my D Lights with this either, so does it mean that I still need receiver for the D Lite ?

you can set your meter to wait for a flash, then trigger flash with the skyport transmitter on you camera

and if I want to trigger strobes only using the meter by pressing “Measuring” button ? Meter has Radio Triggering built in.

it has a pocketwizard trigger so you would need to buy a pocket wizard reciver for your lights
